Besides your tweets, pings and posts you can now ad blips to your list. Think of blips as the tweets of Google Wave. Although Google Wave is still ‘invitation only’ and at beta stage, some companies are already embracing it as the ultimate tool to get in touch with their audience.
Google wave is a real time communication platform that brings together all those lose ends as photo sharing, embedding videos, Google Maps, Google Calendar, docs etc and mashes it up to one, useful tool to collaborate with eachother like there is no tomorrow.
Is it a good tool for brands to use? Actually it is, because it’s a fast and effective way to get in touch with their audience and actually learn from them. And on the other side of the internet connection, consumers are finally being heard and their opinion is being valued.
So what is the downer? Well, it is new. Which means you have to get use to it. Maybe I’m a complete noob, but with all the possibilities that takes a while. For now the only ones that are using Google Wave are the early techie adopters. And the question remains if they are a representative target audience for your business. But the future will tell if it becomes the tool the industry has been waiting for.
